Reading the comments on RKC, it seemed to me that people didn't want to completely abolish the specialization thing, just remove some of the restrictions, like allowing people to have more than one line, allowing people to use high gen mixes that still breed true to their body shape, or allowing people to specialize specifically in mixed breeds. I think if you get rid of specialization completely, then you kinda loose the unique focus of the forum.
Also, the profile thing is kinda useless if we all don't use it the same way. Since you aren't specifically focusing on breeding purebreds, it makes more sense to me for you to check "mixed breeds", because that's what you breed, as opposed to listing out every single breed you own, which will just continue to grow as you adopt more petz. That way, the breed option can be used as a quick way of identifying what someone is breeding, and can help out if people late want to cross their lines. For example, if I specialized in mixed breeds, and I saw you specialized in mixed breeds, I might shoot you a pm suggesting we trade a few petz in order to strengthen and expand both our mixed breed lines. If I just saw you had all the indivudal breeds checked, I would probably just assume you specialized in all those breed, and miss out on an opportunity to build community and expand my lines.

That's exactly why I thought this list would be useful, skissors. So I could make a database of who was breeding what (I could even list specific types of mixies of people wanted, since someone is specializing in lab mixies it seems). You could reference it to see if there was anyone who you could work with to expand your lines.

So, is the main issue about how the additional "Breeds" option in the profile is being used? If so, it can simply be removed if it's causing trouble. We can also add mixed breeds to the list? Like lab mixies, dane mixies, etc. It's a rather simple fix. But if this is an issue with the forum, I agree that it is Meomi's choice. It is her forum. Many users are still only choosing one breed to use on Rootz, be it purebred or mixie. I personally have chosen Labs, and will probably stick with them, and possibly add calis as well. I think Meomi is simply not saying that you HAVE to pick a breed or two and that's it. You can play on the forum however you choose. I think most members will choose to stick with the original idea of choosing one main breed or line to use. I do think the list is a good idea though. I agree, I would love to be able to find others who had chosen the same breeds as me! Only issue is there's also the petz versions to consider. I only use Petz 4, which limits me to adopting only from Petz 4 breeders. Unlike a Petz 5 user, who can adopt from anyone. But if you wanted to add me under Lab mixies or Labradors and say "Kika (mixies)" or however you were planning on setting it up instead, I don't mind! If I am still confused, I apologize! I have not been sleeping enough lol.

I've added you to the list under Lab Mixes. Do you also breed purebreds? Should I add you to the purebred list as well?
Also, I added (P4) and (P5) next to names because you made a good point about certain users only being able to adopt from certain games.

Nope, no purebreds for me! I might later for fun, but I'm a real sucker for mixies, and don't care much for purebred anything usually hahaha.

In the end I decided on calicoes (P4) if you'd like to add me to the list. Thanks! <3

Added. If you or anyone else decides to breed additional breedz (or mixes), you can be added to the list multiple times. No rule about specializing in one thing, you know. lol.

Fall, could you add me to the list under Dalmatians and Maine Coons? I may do other breed and/or mixies later on, but those are the 2 I'm focusing on for now! I really like the idea of a list for the purpose of easily finding other breeders who may be working with the same breeds, so that you can trade/adopt from each other and further your lines without having to breed extra petz

Will do. Before I add you, though, which version are you breeding which breed in? P4 or P5?

Could you put me down for Dalmatians, Calicos and Tamsins ... which in retrospect are a "selective breed" but would likely fall under the "mixed breed" grouping. All these guys are for Petz 4
Little sister wants to breed Labradors but since she's too young to have an account I guess putting them under my name would be best. Labbies are for Petz5

Oops sorry! I breed and play almost exclusively in Petz 4, but I do still have Petz 5. Put me down for P4 please!
