The three girls became adults today, and you know what that means...
Yep, it's time for them to pick their mates! I decided to use the playpen to create the right mood, using all the classic techinques, like the satin pillow, romantic tunes on the music box, and, of course, luv hearts for everyone.
There was a bit of chaos when I first brought everyone out, but they soon settled down and started paying attention to each other.
Crystal and Joel took by far the longest. I was almost worried that they wouldn't get along at all, and I would have to adopt another set of pups to be their mates.
If I remember the time it takes correctly, we should be seeing the second generation of purebred Checkerboard mutts by this weekend! I haven't been this excited breeding petz for a long time, lol.
It's also at this point that I realized I probably should have been smarter and started my line with 4 first gen pairs instead of three. So, I'd like to ask if anybody else has a pair of naturally raised, first gen mutts that they would be willing to naturally breed for me? I know it's rather unlikely, but I figured I'd ask, just in case.

Hobbo and Naomi were the first to mate...
followed by Maria and Atom...

I am already in love with these guys. They are just the craziest couple. They go from snapping at each other to making lovey-dovey at each other to snapping at each other again within the span of like 2 minutes.
