I was wondering what you guys would think of this. I won't do anything if you guys like the way it is already but I got into thinking, some shows people can't enter because they don't have a dog or a cat. I'm gonna try to open shows for both and one of each but I was wondering, would you guys like it if I decided to add one of each specie rule? What that would mean is you could have a dog & a cat breed to work with instead of one or the other.
Let me know what you guys think of this.

Well, I'm not sure what to say about it, but I think that it would be more fair... (As I understood, you'd like to make some contests in which everybody can enter (catz and dogz together) and some contests where only petz of one species can entry (well, contest of Calico catz, for example). Am I right? Or not?... )

Yes, that's what I meant to say. This way, everyone can enter all the contests if they wanted to. Or they could chose to stick to the one breed rule if they wanted.

But I've got one more question: do you mean that users can stick with more than one breed? (I'm very sorry if I understood something wrongly... Sometimes I'm not so good at understanding english and sometimes I'm just stupid...) |

You would have the option of having a cat breed & a dog breed OR just a dog breed OR just a cat breed. The one breed still applies but instead, you would have the option of having one dog breed and one cat breed if you'd like.

I think a cat breed and a dog breed is a good idea, but then people could easily get overwhelmed trying to keep track of 2 lines and play with them ...etc... Another option would be to simply allow both catz and dogz in all shows. Usually both species are capable of doing just about everything. Dogs & Cats both enjoy catching mice, sniffing, jumping, tricks, stacking...etc... Up to you I'm all for keeping it the way it is, or doing one of each |

Those are great points Amy :3 I'll let this open for a bit and see what the majority of the people want but I'm starting to lean towards keeping things as is and just have the shows open to ALL species.

As you've seen, I rarely enter contests... (Sorry about that, by the way! I hope you don't mind!)
But we would be able to have one of each species, if we wanted, for raising and everything as well? Like for me, I'd probably have Alley Catz along with Mutts. And if this IS what you mean, does it apply to people who don't/rarely have anything to do with contests/shows?
I'm actually kind of excited at the possibility of adding Mutts to my gang here... o.o

Of course if I pull the same thing I did to get my alleys (take all my AC petz I already had) I'm ALREADY gonna be swamped. I have hoards of 1st gen Mutts. Sigh. I'll have to think about it. xDDD

I personally would be completely overwhelmed with this so I won't join in(at least at the moment), but I'm sure other people would love it so I think it's a good idea :3

I'm a bit late to reply... But I think this would be a good idea, I would still love to adopt some Calis or Tabbies! But would we need a separate thread for the second breed in the Kennelz/Cattery board? Either way I don't mind, I think it would probably better to have a separate one though, I would probably make a second profile for both breedz to. |
