"Kemet" is the ancient Egyptian word for Egypt I started by adopting four Maus: Ra (red), Sekhmet (gold), Shu (grey) and Tefnut (blue). The colours of their shirts relate to their associations in Egyptian mythology. Ra is god of the sun (which I know isn't actually red but is often represented as such in Kemetic artwork), Sekhmet is a war goddess but is also associated with the desert, Shu is a personification of the air and Tefnut is a personification of the rain. Sekhmet and Tefnut are both commonly represented as cats or lionesses, so I figured they would be good choices of name to start my line with. Ra and Shu were chosen because they are described as the consorts of Sekhmet and Tefnut, respectively. Although Sekhmet is also called the daughter of Ra... mythology is weird like that. I'm going to breed these two pairs when they're old enough, and then take one kitten from each litter and breed them together. That should be enough to be getting on with for now, but I have more plans for after that... I'll check in every day to see how they're doing, and come here to update!
